The Court Historical Society of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana will host its 12th Annual Court History & Continuing Legal Education Symposium on November 1, 2019, from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM. This year's symposium will feature a look back on two major projects recently completed by the Historical Society, plus an exploration of the paths to the bench of past and present judges of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. The United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana has determined there is an immediate need to delete Local Criminal Rule 6-1 – Petitions Under 28 U.S.C. Section 2254 or 2255 in Cases Involving a Sentence of Capital Punishment and adopt Local Criminal Rule 38-2 - Cases Challenging the Conviction and/or Sentence Where a Sentence of Death Has Been Imposed. ' 2071, Rule 83 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, and Rule 57 of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana hereby gives public notice of the following: The Local Rules Advisory Committee for the Southern District of Indiana has recommended, and the District Court has authorized release for a period of public comment through October 16, 2019, the revision of certain Local Rules of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.
