Public Notice for Reappointment of Incumbent Magistrate Judge

The current term of office of United States Magistrate Judge Craig M. McKee at Terre Haute, Indiana, is due to expire on August 22, 2023.  The United States District Court is required by law to establish a panel of citizens to consider the reappointment of the magistrate judge to a new four-year term.  Comments from members of the bar and the public are invited as to whether the incumbent magistrate judge should be recommended by the panel for reappointment and must be received by Friday, March 24, 2023.  Click on the link below for more details.

Press Release - Southern District of Indiana Accepting Applications for Potential U.S. Magistrate Judge Vacancy - Evansville, Indiana

On December 21, 2022, President Joseph R. Biden nominated United States Magistrate Judge Matthew P. Brookman as District Judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. Once confirmed by the U.S. Senate, Magistrate Judge Brookman will fill the vacancy created by Judge Richard L. Young's assumption of senior status. Judge Brookman's confirmation will also create a United States Magistrate Judge vacancy for the Southern District of Indiana.
