Judge Gonzalo P. Curiel to speak at Hispanic Heritage Month event

On Friday, October 6, 2017, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana and the Indiana State Bar Association Latino Affairs Committee will sponsor a Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration. The United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana will host the event at 2:00 pm in the Sarah Evans Barker Courtroom (courtroom 216) at the Birch Bayh Federal Building and United States Courthouse, 46 East Ohio Street, Indianapolis, Indiana.
 
United States District Judge Gonzalo P. Curiel will be the featured speaker and reflect on his remarkable journey from his childhood in northwest Indiana to his current position as a judge on the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. Judge Curiel will talk about his parents, the great opportunities afforded to his family in America, the importance of diversity in our country, and the role of the law in protecting our rights.
