Pro se plaintiff Nathan Hooper filed a civil rights suit alleging officers at Wabash Valley Correctional Facility subjected him to excessive force in violation of the Eighth Amendment. The Court entered default against Defendants Bennett and Ison for failing to defend against the lawsuit. Following a damages hearing, the Court found that Mr. Hooper was entitled to $4,500 total damages: $2,000 in compensatory damages, $1,000 each from defendant Jaymison Bennett and Brandon Ison. $2,500 in punitive damages, $2,000 from defendant Jaymison Bennett and $500 from Brandon Ison. The Court seeks to recruit an attorney to aid Mr. Hooper in collecting on the judgment in this proceeding supplemental action.
