  • The Southern District of Indiana uses an electronic case management system (CM/ECF) for all civil cases opened after July 1, 2002, and for all criminal cases opened after February 1, 2007. Docket information, as well as most case documents (in PDF form) can be accessed with a U.S. Courts PACER account.
     
    To obtain a PACER account, please contact the PACER Service Center at:

  • Case docket information for civil cases opened prior to July 1, 2002, and for criminal cases opened prior to February 1, 2007, can be found through the court's JAMS Case Search page. No PACER account is needed for this information. Although the docket (chronological list of case activity) may be viewed, documents in these cases are not available electronically. Copies of case documents may be requested through the Clerk's office, using the Copy Request Form.
      
  • EXCEPTIONS: Some civil cases which were opened before July 1, 2002, and some criminal cases opened before February 1, 2007, have been administratively moved to CM/ECF, in order to take advantage of electronic filing and noticing. View the Complete List of older cases which are now managed in CM/ECF.
