Privacy Policy:
It is the policy of the United States District Court for the
Southern District of Indiana that documents in civil case files
should be made available electronically to the same extent that they
are available at the courthouse, with limited exceptions. In
compliance with the policy of the Judicial Conference of the United
States and the E-Government Act of 2002 (Public Law 107-347; 44
U.S.C. 3501 note), certain "personal data identifiers" (including
Social Security numbers, dates of birth, financial account numbers
and names of minor children) must be modified or partially redacted
by the litigants prior to filing documents electronically or on
paper.
While the responsibility for redacting these personal identifiers
rests solely with counsel and the parties, copies of case documents
provided by the U.S. District Court Clerk’s office that include
personal data identifiers, may in some instances be redacted
(blacked out) by court staff. Read our
Redaction
Notice for more information.
